About the Company:
Just three years since launch, FindTheBest has grown from a small Santa Barbara garage to a 100+ employee company with 25M+ visitors a month, already a quarter the size of Yelp. Everyday, even the newest employees make a giant impact on our millions of users. If you’ve ever dreamed of being an entrepreneur—but want the security of a company built for success—there’s no better place to start your career.
FindTheBest is building the ultimate research hub that equips people with the best information and research tools to think like experts. Users have access to information on hundreds of topics, from colleges to smartphones to dog breeds, helping them make the best, most informed decisions possible.
We're backed by two VC firms: Kleiner Perkins Caufield Byers and New World Ventures. Our founder/CEO previously started DoubleClick (sold to Google for $3.1B). Located in Santa Barbara (“Silicon Beach”), we're fast-growing, and best of all, fun. Employees enjoy snacks, a game room, quick access to the beach, and daily classes with a personal trainer. Career opportunities abound for smart students.
You will be responsible for tracking and coding expenses, ensuring timely payments to our vendors, and learning about the cash flow of the business.
This position would entail collaboration accross multiple departments and is company-wide in scope. A typical day might include assisting our Revenue Operations team with reporting and reconciling bank accounts and creidt card statements, while simultaneously assisting our Senior Accountant and Director of Operations on workflow structures and analytics.
Once you grasp an overall understanding of the business, you will also have the opportunity to fulfill additional responsibilities. Although the base skill required for the position is accounting, we are flexible, and so is your role. Assisting with office management and other ad hoc projects is encouraged.
If you have a thorough understanding of accounting, economics, finance or math and you’re not looking to work in a cubicle at one of the “big four," some brokerage firm, or your typical corporate setting, then this opportunity is for you. If you are dedicated, skilled and understand the essential idea of hard work minimizing the risk of return, this opportunity is yours for the taking.
